BACKGROUND
The GrowthGenius feature is a monthly email report that is sent to users to give them insights into their business. I was tasked with redesigning and developing this feature this feature that was sent to GlossGenius users. The objective was to elevate the visual aesthetics, enhance the reporting frequency from monthly to weekly, and incorporate additional business insights by introducing new metrics. The report would provide a longitudinal view of the users progress alongside their existing weekly snapshots.
Design
DESIGN EXPLORATION
The main goal was to design a visually engaging showcase of our professionals' wins. To do this I focused on structuring the email to seamlessly highlight key achievements, ensuring a user-friendly layout that captivates our audience. Placing the week's successes strategically within the design created a compelling narrative, allowing each triumph to shine through and allow the professional to celebrate every win.
Iterating through various concepts, we experimented with visually captivating elements, intuitive data organization, and a balance between textual and visual content. The exploration aimed to strike a harmonious blend, ensuring that the report not only delivers pertinent information but also resonates with users through an aesthetically pleasing and user-friendly design.
Final Design
In the culmination of our design process, we embraced a dynamic and visually engaging strategy for the final layout. This involved the infusion of vibrancy through the incorporation of colored backgrounds, thoughtfully designed borders, and expressive iconography. Each element was meticulously chosen to not only enhance the aesthetic appeal but also to contribute meaningfully to the user experience. The addition of these visual elements aimed to create a lively and intuitive interface, ensuring that users not only find the information they need but also enjoy a visually stimulating and cohesive presentation of data.
BUILD OUT
During the developmental phase, a notable challenge emerged pertaining to the implementation of HTML/CSS to ensure cross-platform compatibility across diverse email environments. This obstacle necessitated a strategic pivot towards utilizing tables as the primary layout structure. The rationale behind this decision stemmed from the recognition that not all email platforms uniformly support divs or containers. Using tables was our way of making sure everything showed up consistently and reliably.
Results
The redesign of our email report proved to be a resounding success, earning an outpouring of love from our users. The revamped layout and enhanced visuals not only provided a more intuitive and user-friendly experience but also garnered enthusiastic feedback for its clarity and effectiveness. Users have expressed their appreciation for the improved design, affirming that the changes have significantly elevated their overall satisfaction with the email reporting system.
